“ The world is a book and those
who do not travel read only one page. ” – St. Augustine
There is an old nursery rhyme called “Monday’s Child” which was very popular when I was a small child. It is supposed to tell a child’s character or future based on the day he or she was born and to help young children remember the seven days of the week. It was something that my parents had taught me and because I was born on a Thursday – my line was :
“Thursday’s Child has far to go”
There are various interpretations for this, but my parents always told me that it meant I would have a desire and the opportunity to travel when I grew up. This proved to be the case so I’m sticking to that interpretation and that is why I have chosen the name for my travel site.

I created this site because I have always had a love of travel and I have had the good fortune to be able to indulge that love and experience many parts of the world, some that I never imagined I would be able to.
Whether in my own country or far abroad, the experiences, the people, the food, and the scenery have always amazed me.
So this website is for me to share some of those experiences in the hope that I can tempt you to go on your own adventure, or to provide you with some information about a place that you are interested in visiting.
I would also like to invite you to share your experiences!
If you would like to share something about a topic or place I have written about, I would love your input. Or something totally new would be great too. Just click on the section Guest Posts and share your stories!
